The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback met Brittany (née Matthews) at Whitehouse High School in Texas, and they began dating in 2012, when he was a sophomore and she was a junior. Both were elite athletes — Brittany has played professional soccer and co-founded the Kansas City Current — and supported each other at their respective games.

They also did very normal teenage couple things, like taking goofy selfies, attending prom and, as Patrick recalled to Today in December 2020, “showing up at the family dinner type stuff and being nervous and everything.”

Their relationship stayed strong through college, and the two wed in Hawaii in March 2022. Patrick and Brittany have supported each other through career milestones and injuries, embraced family time with their children — daughters Sterling Skye and Golden Raye and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III —and enjoyed some pretty great matching moments with Taylor Swift.
