Myles Garrett Shows Support for Shedeur Sanders After Impressive Debut
The Cleveland Browns are in the spotlight following a dynamic Week 12 victory, with rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders making a strong impression. Although the team has not officially named him the starting quarterback, Sanders’ performance has earned the respect of superstar defensive end Myles Garrett.

Shedeur Sanders Shines in First Start
In his first start, Sanders led the Browns to a 24-10 win over the Raiders, finishing with 209 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. While the stat line was solid, the play that caught everyone’s attention came early in the first quarter.
Under pressure, Sanders rolled out and launched a 52-yard strike to Isaiah Bond, drawing stunned reactions from both fans and teammates. Garrett was visibly impressed.
“I was just like ‘wow,’” Garrett said. “There’s not many guys in the league that can make that throw. That was a hell of a throw. I hope he can continue to grow and develop from making plays like that and take it from there.”
This throw highlighted Sanders’ arm strength and composure under pressure, signaling a potential new chapter for the Browns’ offense.
QB Situation Remains Uncertain

Despite Sanders’ performance, the Browns have not officially named him the starter. Dillon Gabriel, who exited Week 11 due to a concussion, is expected to reclaim the starting role once cleared. However, Gabriel struggled in his starts, going 1-5 and failing to provide the spark the team needed.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski avoided confirming the quarterback situation after the win.
“I’m not going to get into that. Obviously proud of him and proud of this offense. But I’m just going to worry about today. I’m always going to take my time and do what’s best for the football team,” Stefanski said.
Despite the uncertainty, Sanders has shown confidence and readiness to lead.
“The fact that I got an opportunity and I was able to show the organization, show everybody who I really am, then now it’s truly exciting,” Sanders said. “I was off balance for a little bit, but I’m thankful to be back where I am.”
Myles Garrett Continues Dominant Season

While Sanders garnered attention, Garrett continued his historic pursuit of the NFL single-season sack record. He recorded three more sacks against the Raiders, bringing his season total to 18.
The NFL record for single-season sacks is 22.5, jointly held by Michael Strahan (2001) and T.J. Watt (2021). Garrett has been relentless, accumulating 14 sacks over the Browns’ last five games, the most by any player in NFL history over such a span.
His performance also broke his own franchise record of 16 sacks, demonstrating his continued dominance on defense.
“That’s a hell of a month, hell of the last four games. I don’t even think about it. I’m just thinking about the next one. I can’t tell you how much I’m really proud of this team, how we responded,” Garrett said.
Looking Ahead for the Browns

The Week 12 victory gave the Browns a glimpse of what the team can achieve with a balanced offense and elite defensive play. Sanders has earned trust from his teammates, Garrett has maintained historic form, and the Browns look to string together consecutive wins for the first time this season.
Next week, Cleveland will host the San Francisco 49ers, providing another chance to see whether Sanders continues to lead the offense or if Gabriel returns as starter. Either way, the team’s dynamics have shifted, and the combination of Garrett’s pressure and Sanders’ playmaking ability gives the Browns a compelling mix of talent and momentum moving forward.
