The story begins before Bocelli was even born. When his mother, Edi Bocelli, was pregnant, doctors warned her that continuing the pregnancy could result in severe health complications for the child. Fearing that her baby might be born with serious disabilities, the medical professionals advised termination. But Edi, guided by courage, faith, and the support of Bocelli’s father, refused. Andrea Bocelli was born, and today he is one of the most celebrated voices in the world of music. “She disregarded that advice and carried me to term with the support of my father. Without their courage and faith, I wouldn’t be here today telling this story.”
