Las Vegas, NV · January 4, 2026 — 10:30 AM PT Local authorities confirmed a violent pre-game incident outside Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, as Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested a Kansas City Chiefs fan for allegedly assaulting two female Raiders supporters during a confrontation in a tailgate area ahead of the Chiefs vs. Raiders Week 18 matchup.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and multiple eyewitnesses, the altercation occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. in a crowded tailgate lot near the stadium, about four hours before kickoff.

The suspect — described by witnesses as a 33-year-old male — allegedly confronted two Raiders fans over a tailgate setup and “territory” near their vehicle.

Witnesses told officers the man tore down a Raiders banner, pushed one victim to the ground — resulting in knee and elbow injuries — and then grabbed the second woman by the arm, slamming her against a nearby table during the scuffle.

Nearby fans intervened promptly, restraining the suspect until police arrived within minutes.

The Chiefs fan was taken into custody at the scene and now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Assault and battery causing injury
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Potential bias-motivated enhancement, as investigators review statements and footage suggesting rivalry-fueled aggression may have intensified the attack

The victims — both Raiders supporters — were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

The suspect is currently being held at a local facility on $10,000 bond, pending a preliminary hearing. Footage of the confrontation — recorded by several bystanders — has already gone viral on social media, exceeding 2 million views on X under hashtags #ChiefsFanArrested and #TailgateAssault.

In response, Allegiant Stadium security heightened patrols around all tailgate areas ahead of the January 4, 2026 AFC West rivalry game, emphasizing a “zero tolerance” stance for fan violence.

Authorities urged attendees to report any aggressive behavior immediately as crowds continued to gather for the crucial season finale.
