Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton to enter transfer portal

Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton will enter the transfer portal, he told On3 on Thursday.

Horton, a redshirt junior, transferred to Alabama after three seasons at Miami. He was a four-star prospect in the 2022 high school class from Nashville, Tennessee.

Horton finished the 2025 season with 42 catches for 511 yards after catching 56 passes for 616 yards and five touchdowns during his final season at Miami.

The 6-foot-4 Horton led Alabama with a career-high eight receiving touchdowns this past season. He started 15 games with 11 starts, playing the second-most snaps (585) among Alabama wide receivers.

Horton was projected by ESPN as high as a second-round pick in the 2026 draft as recently as mid-December. Players with at least three seasons of college experience have until January 14 to declare for the 2026 NFL draft.

Horton had a longstanding friendship with now-former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, a fellow Tennessee native who declared Wednesday for the 2026 NFL draft. They played 7-on-7 football together in high school.

“That’s my guy,” Horton said last year. “That’s kind of one of the reasons I came here, too, just to get back with him.”

Horton’s departure would leave Alabama with five receivers on its roster for 2026 in Ryan Williams, Lotzeir Brooks, Rico Scott, Derek Meadows and incoming freshman Cederian Morgan.

Alabama on Thursday offered UT Rio Grande Valley wide receiver Tony Diaz, who is in the transfer portal, and the Tide is expected to host former Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman on a visit.

The transfer portal opened last Friday and remains open through January 16.
