Ambyr Childers Reveals She Watched Ex-Husband Randall Emmett’s Sex Tape With Lala Kent

Ambyr Childers counts herself among the viewers of Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s now-infamous sex tape.
“I looked at the tape and I’d seen it, and my whole life kind of stopped,” Childers, 37, said on the Friday, January 9, debut episode of her and Kent’s “Unlikely Affair” podcast. “It wasn’t about what I was seeing in front of me. It was more of, like, I had completely realized that I had abandoned myself forever.”
Childers was married to Emmett, now 54, from 2009 to 2017, during which time they welcomed daughters London and Rylee. Amid the pair’s divorce, Emmett moved on with Kent, now 35. The movie producer and Kent split in October 2021, months after welcoming daughter Ocean. (Kent welcomed her second child, daughter Sosa, in 2024 using a sperm donor.)
“You look great in the tape,” Childers quipped to the Vanderpump Rules alum. “Looking at this tape, it wasn’t seeing the acts that were going on. I saw my life flash before me, like, I saw everything. You’re looking at something but you’re not looking at something, like, your brain is showing you a different reel of what’s happening in your life.”
According to Childers, watching Emmett and Kent’s video made her realize that her marriage was over.
“Leaving never felt safe. That was a threat to everything that I had established,” she recalled. “I’ll never forget, after that tape [and] after seeing what I saw, it was like I awoke in the moment. I was, like, ‘If you don’t leave, you’re going to die.’ I felt so trapped in that relationship … and it’s so hard for some people to explain. They’re, like, ‘Dumb bitch, just leave.’”
Childers initially stayed in her marriage for London and Rylee’s sakes.
“I tell people I stayed because of my kids. I didn’t want my girls to grow up from a broken home,” the You alum recalled. “I didn’t know what that experience was like, and I didn’t want that. And in that moment I realized, I was like, ‘OK, I gotta get out. It’s [like] I have to save myself for my kids.’ … Because if I’m not here and kids don’t breathe, they don’t breathe the oxygen of the house. I think they truly breathe the oxygen of the mother.”
Childers further stated that she felt “half-dead” by the end of her marriage.
“I was taking pills to numb my feelings just to suppress all that s*** I was feeling inside because I didn’t know what to do with it,” Childers said. “I had no outlet. My only outlet was acting at that point.”

Childers and Kent have both since moved on from Emmett.
“The fact that you can go out and still believe in love and let me enter your life shows your resilience,” Kent told her friend. “I think you need to give yourself credit for that. I have stayed in a place for many years of fear and being completely guarded, and you know, I see one tiny little thing that I don’t like, and I’m like, ‘Oh, this person’s a horrible human.’ … I think that you should look at that as your bounce-back, [which] is f***ing incredible.”
