Robert Cosby Jr. was charged with domestic violence and had a warrant out for his arrest in the weeks leading to his tragic death.

The 23-year-old son of Mary Cosby was charged with felony aggravated assault and felony assault on Feb. 5 — two days after he was released from jail.

The alleged victim reported Robert Jr. on Nov. 23, alleging that he became enraged after she threw his drugs in the toilet six months earlier, per documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday.

While the alleged victim’s name wasn’t revealed, the initials linked to the case were A.S., and they referred to Robert Jr. as her “husband.”

Robert Jr., who was open about his struggles with drugs, finalized his divorce from his wife of three years, Alexiana Smokoff, in January.

Per the outlet, the victim alleged that he “beat her about the face and head, and kicked her in the stomach.”

A.S. also claimed she was choked for several seconds and couldn’t breathe.

The victim showed officers her injuries from the alleged encounter, which included a “red and swollen” eye, an eyebrow lump and a mark on her neck.

According to TMZ, Robert Jr. would face a harsher sentence due to former domestic violence crimes.

Additionally, Mary was listed as a witness on the police report because she handed over evidence.

The Salt Lake City Police Department wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.

Just two days before he was charged, Robert Jr. was released after serving two months in jail for allegedly violating Alexiana’s restraining order. He pleaded guilty to the charges against him in November.

In a statement to People, his lawyer stated that he “express[ed] deep regret regarding his prior actions and acknowledg[ed] that his past behavior demonstrates poor judgment.”

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star’s son was found dead on Feb. 23 after officers “responded to an overdose call that turned into a death investigation.”

Mary addressed Robert Jr.’s death shortly after the news broke on Wednesday, writing via Instagram that she knows “he is finally at peace.”

“Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord,” she said. “Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”
