The Indiana Fever have been very busy on Friday. This team is looking to build a formidable roster around Caitlin Clark as the two-time All-Star heads into her third season with championship aspirations in mind.

Earlier in the day, news emerged that the Fever agreed on a one-year, $1.4 million supermax deal with Kelsey Mitchell. She was the top priority for Indiana in WNBA free agency, and the front office made sure to get the deal done early.

Indiana, however, still has a full roster to fill. As of writing, it’s only Clark, Aliyah Boston and Makayla Timpson who are under contract for 2026. Mitchell can officially sign her new deal on Saturday. This is also the case for backup center Damiris Dantas, who reportedly agreed on a new contract as well.

“Monique Billings took a meeting with the New York Liberty but should sign with the Indiana Fever, I’m being told,” Rodrigues reported on X.

Clark knows Billings well. The Fever superstar got a chance to play alongside the 6-foot-4 veteran forward for Team USA in March at the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Clark made her debut for the senior team of the national squad, while also marking her return from an eight-month injury layoff. The two-time WNBA All-Star took the tournament by storm. She led Team USA to a 5-0 record, en route to winning the tournament’s MVP award.

Billings played all five games in Puerto Rico, averaging 6.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13.4 minutes of action.

Billings is now heading into her ninth season in the WNBA. She’s no superstar, but she could potentially be a key rotation piece for Clark and the Fever in 2026.
