Sophie Cunningham silenced a fan for mocking her for her opinion on Mount Rushmore for basketball shooters. On Wednesday, “Hard Rock Bet’s” Instagram account shared a video featuring Cunningham from one of her events.

In the video, the Fever guard was asked to name her list of the best shooters in NBA and WNBA history combined. She named Steph Curry at the top of the mountain, followed by Kayla McBride, Ray Allen and Diana Taurasi.

However, the fans were not pleased with Sophie Cunningham’s opinion. They swarmed the post’s comment section with their opinion on the Fever guard’s list. One fan mocked Cunningham’s basketball knowledge in a comment.

“To people getting mad at her list don’t get mad at her list. She’s young and she really don’t know who Ray Allen is. She said that’s a fit in would be cool,” the fan said.

Cunningham clapped back at the fan with a brutal response.

“I grew up watching up, so zip it,” she wrote.

Sophie Cunningham is one of the finest range shooters in the WNBA. The Fever acquired her in a four-team trade last season to bolster its guard depth with shooting and defense. She shot 43.2% from the 3-point line last season, while averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

Sophie Cunningham will be joining USA Network’s WNBA coverage for the 2026 season. On Tuesday, the Fever guard broke the news to fans on her Instagram account with a video montage of her Fever highlights.

“I’m back baby and with a NEW SQUAAAAD!! I’m joining the @usasports team throughout the year to contribute to studio coverage of @wnba games on @usanetwork 🏀👊🏼🔥” she wrote.

Cunningham’s deal is similar to the one Caitlin Clark has with NBC. It means that she would still be primarily playing basketball this season, but will be available at the USA Network’s studio as a contributor to cover other games.

The Fever guard is currently a free agent following the WNBA expansion draft for the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo. Neither of the expansion teams chose her for their roster.

According to Spotrac, Cunningham had signed a one-year $100,000 contract with the Phoenix Mercury at the start of the 2025 season. The Fever picked up her in a trade and has yet to offer her an extension. The 2026 WNBA season tips off on May 8.
